Impressive VISIONS in Balingen

From 22-24 September, around 140 exhibitors presented themselves at the VISIONEN education fair in Balingen with a wide range of career prospects for prospective school leavers of all school types. The fair is an opportunity for companies, public authorities and educational institutions to awaken an initial passion for professions in the young recruits and to already make helpful contacts. With their extensive presence at the fair, the local economy, trade, crafts and industry hope to acquire qualified employees in the region and also to be able to retain them in the long term.

The learning groups 9 of the Stetten School Centre visited the education fair together with their learning guides Jessica Zwick, Maria Montalbano and Marco Heller. "It was an extremely inspiring morning", Maria Montalbano summarises the profitable exchange of information, and the learning partners also returned with positive impressions:

"There is an interesting large selection of exhibitors here," reports Viola from 9.2 enthusiastically, "not only apprenticeships are presented, but also courses of study."

"They answer everything you should know and also approach you," Jule and Camille from the same learning group praise the communicative engagement of the customer advisory service.

The fact that the information about the respective occupation goes into depth and highlights a comprehensive profile of requirements helps the future trainees a lot to make an initial comparison of their personal requirements with the requirements profile of the job, given the enormous number of choices. "There are different training periods for each profession," explains Berenice from 9.2, "some require more resilience."

A successful professional biography can only be developed with the appropriate contacts and connections. socialising, meet and greetPhil from 9.1 knows: "I met people I've been to before, and some of them did a very good job of advertising here. The people were nice, I got a lot of materials for an internship that will help me."

"I liked the fact that you could talk to the companies directly," says Louis, also from 9.1, about the openly communicative atmosphere. "Thanks to the career fair, I might now have a new apprenticeship in the profession I want.

Learning facilitator Jessica Zwick is extremely satisfied with the effect of the fair visit on the learning partners. The presence of the individual companies in the 3,000 square metre exhibition area is a big plus for anyone who is still undecided about a career: "The stands are attractively designed so that the pupils meet professions they would not otherwise have looked at. Thanks to the preparation in school with the available fair newspapers and the profiles of the professions, the students were able to get an idea of the fair in advance and have a handy memo after the visit, which makes the choice easier."

Thanks to VISIONEN, some of you may already have concrete plans for your own application letters in the next few days.

"Ultimately, it is a privilege for the young generation to experience that exhibitors are intensively looking for them as workers," sums up Marco Heller.

The large number of vacancies for skilled workers in the region additionally offers a chance for the prospective graduates not only to "find accommodation" somewhere, but to find an entry into their dream job.
