Maximilian Rech: "It was really cool! We went to some museums, the German Bundestag and Checkpoint Charlie..."

Report by Phil Pepke and Maximilian Rech:
The journey to Berlin started at 6 am. On the way there in the bus, we listened to music together and sang along. We arrived at 4pm and went to our hotel to have a look at our rooms. Afterwards we went to Alexanderplatz. The next day we visited Checkpoint Charlie, a museum about the GDR times. We went on a city tour and in the evening we went to the Club Matrix, which was a real highlight for many students. On Wednesday we visited the Bundestag and got information about the work of the government in Berlin. In the afternoon we visited the prison in Hohenschonhausen; there we were allowed to look into the life of an inmate. In the evening, each class went out for pizza with their classmates and teachers.
On Thursday, we visited The Wall Museum in the morning and learned how the Berlin Wall was built until its fall. Towards afternoon we went to the Topography of Terror Museum: there we were shown how the Nazis found and tortured enemies of the state. In the evening, we actually had an appointment with Thomas Bareiß, member of the Bundestag, but unfortunately he cancelled at short notice due to an appointment. In the evening, we played billiards with the teachers.
Our return journey the next day was very relaxed, we listened to music again. The bus driver Elke was also very cool and made us laugh all the time. We had a really great week!
